1. BIG CROSS

A pilgrimage site marked by a Big Cross on the slopes Cabug offers a majestic view of the Cebu Strait. A road leading to the place features replicas of the 14 Stations of the Cross up until you reach the last station where it is in the cross. Fresh air over looking in the Island of Cebu.

HOW TO GET THERE

About 45 kilometers from Tagbilaran City, from the town proper of Loon, Bohol, you can either hire a “habal-habal” and settle for the arrangement of fare. Travel time is roughly 10-20 minutes from the town via tricycle 1.8 km from the national highway.

2. MT. HABOOG

Mt. Haboog is located 500 meters north from the Barangay center. Its piedmont dominates the northern part of the Barangay center, where it extends toward the “Nagasnas Quarry”, going westward to Barangay Valaga. Mt. Haboog is a lonely representative of the world-famous Bohol Chocolate Hills. It is an ideal site for eco-tourism development (eco-sports or eco-adventure) with proposed tourist attraction features or activities to be established such as zip lines T-bar cable lines. To attract more visitors, the summit can be developed as a Scenic View Park with a viewing telescope equipment, Kiosk, snack bar and a souvenir shop. It can also be a picnic and recreation area.

HOW TO GET THERE

From Tagbilaran City, you can take a van-for-hire (V-hire) and travel time is approximately 2 hours with fare Php 130.00. You can also take the bus with fare Php 85.00 and travel time at roughly 2.5 – 3 hours. Drop off at Mabini Public Market.

3. PHILIPPINE TARSIER SANCTUARY

The entire family can enjoy trekking. Ask questions after the tour. They are nocturnal but are also mildly awake in the daytime. Take pictures with no flashes and keep your distance because sometimes they are very close. Trek into the real tarsier habitat. Just make sure to be extra quiet.

From Tagbilaran City you can ride Jeepney, motorbikes, tricycle, van for rent going to Corella.

4. SEA OF CLOUDS

Danao Sea of Clouds is recently discovered tourist spot in Bohol. The phenomenal Sea of Clouds usually occurs early in the morning. So, it is most advisable to be on site before the sunrise to see the amazing Sea of Clouds in Danao. The tantalizing Danao Sea of Clouds creates some buzz on social media as the wonderful sea of clouds.

HOW TO GET THERE

3-hour bus/van ride from the city capital of Bohol, Tagbilaran City. The spot is located in Mt.Puntaas, the boundary between Danao and Dagohoy town “The thick sea of clouds is visible during the cold season from sunrise until 7am”. Only a 5-minute walk from the road in Brgy. Concepcion.

5. SIKATUNA TREE PARK

The Sikatuna Tree Park is an area developed by the local government unit to promote nature preservation and to keep the local cultures and traditions intact. Tree planting, trekking and mountain biking is the main attraction in Sikatuna Tree Park. It is also an ideal place for an inland picnic, camping and for the nature lover who just long for fresh air and rustic outdoor space. Adventurers are in for a treat as the park contains challenging hiking trails towards more than 100 caves around its numerous rivers and lake bends, it also sports several camping sites for long-staying campers. The park also features great views for birdwatching, and nature sightseeing.

HOW TO GET THERE

15-20 minutes by private car By Public Transport – from Tagbilaran City the regular fare for the PUJ is only Php 17.00 (only in the national highway) from the national highway to the Sikatuna Tree Park the tourist will walk for about 10 minutes and mingle with the local folks and experience the local cultures. By taxi or v-hire – the tourist will spend about Php 400.00 for the fare.

OTHER MATTERS

Required time for the tour program Approximately of 1 to 2 hours. All ages maximum of 300 persons is allowed. They can bring sunglasses, hat, an umbrella for protection against sunlight.
